A good way to end. Similar to the way it started. Originally intended to be a 40 km TT, the thought of that much pain called for a re-draft of the ride plan. Ended up that a TT would have been much easier. Lesson: Never question the ride organizer.
Highlights:
1. A Chilean ended up in the ditch - amusing to everyone but the Chilean. So he redeemed himself on 7 layers of compressed maple, showing off some mildly impressive old skate skills.
2. A post-ride marinade in the pool avec drinks, stories and fellow enthusiasts.
3. A renewed commitment to not to let cycling die - at least until this weekends Alpe is over.
Only 2 days left to register for the Alpe assault. No day of registration.
A bike ban in Brunet Park in Lasalle is effective immediately. Lots of questions and some good people organizing on behalf of the bike community.
Sounds like a good time to start-up some cyclocross practice courses over at Brunet.

To protest the Brunet Bike ban I will not be riding a bike for the next 7 days...unfortunately, that means a DNR for Alpe but my promised attire will remain ironed and ready for the event!

and in a note of irony, my 'verification word' for the previous post was TARDIS! As in, 'Who is the tardis who thought riding in cotton was a good idea?'
ReplyDeleteIf wearing cotton is cool, then consider me Myles Davis.
ReplyDeletePrize for the best Cotton T at @ the Alpe
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions???
JLo's virginity.
ReplyDeleteMost of you would really enjoy that wouldn't you. As for the unknown protester, it takes courage to launch and carry out a protest in which nobody knows that you're protesting anything. Nice coincidence your 7 days included this weekend. Enjoy your chips and bonbons on the couch this afternoon.

Actually it was MGD and a Lion's victory that I was enjoying but fear not, as the weather turns colder there will be plenty of opportunity for more protests!! Where are the Alpe results??

Far better than chips and bonbons
ReplyDeleteAdam destroyed the field and lapped everyone atleast once.
