The simplicity of going out for an easy ride with no agenda is a welcome change this time of year.
Training and racing can become mentally exhausting, but a short ride with periodic stops for beverages changes all that. Plus its nice to consume more calories than you burn on a ride.
On the opposite end of the spectrum of the Slow and Low is the proposed Triple Threat. It would combine three staple rides for a small group of cyclists [tacoRIDE, TimeTrial, Monday Night Worlds] and make for a 220+ km day of biking. The idea has been tabled so now lets see if it happens.
How Did The Riders to Watch Do?

Ten riders were picked to watch for the season and now it’s time to revisit
the post and see hw they fared in the course of the year. Remco Evenepoel

In what order , wouldn't Taco have to be last but then that would mean starting after MNW, sounds like a logistical nightmare. I can see Jim Crichton on A-Channel," An ambitious group of cyclists are competing in the Triple Threat today throughout Essex County, if you would like to participate all you need is a double disc TT bike, a case of domestique micro brews,a head lamp and some Tums.
ReplyDeleteThe Triple Threat looks like the perfect 'Shore 2 Shore' prep ride. Should be fun, assuming no rain!
ReplyDeleteThis is the rough breakdown of the Triple Threat. Looking to be held on the holiday of Aug.3. The TT or tacoRIDE will start in the morning, then just keep rolling from then on into Monday Night Worlds at 5:30 pm. Bring a cross bike, road bike, and of course the micro brews [I like where your head is at Nick].
ReplyDeleteI would prefer that Anna Vlakos delivers this breaking news report rather then Jim Crichton.
Sounds like a Triple Threat of saddle sores. You might want to pack a can of Axe spray as well.
ReplyDeleteI have a case of Assos Cream if anyone needs.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will soften up a fatigued but amped up Max Edge crew for the shore to shore. Ciclo Sport will be coming in with low miles and fresh legs....opps..that has 120k bonk written all over it...shit.
ReplyDeleteLow miles and fresh legs you say. That means Sean K is going to be a force. I expect he will make many bitches out of us come this day. May he have mercy on a few.
ReplyDeleteBoys, where is the shore 2 shore leaving from. I want to take part! Also, there's a Kegger at my Cottage Saturday night. I can give you the details in the morning if you want to drink some beer!
