Sometimes (many times) the ride begins with the general consensus that things should roll slow and low.
Rarely this happens though. Inevitably someone ups the tempo, and like lemmings, we all follow.
Because peer pressure is a wonderful thing and nobody wants to be the only one taking it easy.
So next time when a group assures you the ride will be a relaxed pace - don't trust them. Sure they themselves believe it will be a social event, but it always ends in feeling of tired emptiness - but in a good way.
